Review of Bar Taco in Westport, CT

Last night I had the pleasure of trying out a restaurant called Bar Taco. If you're familiar with the Connecticut area, then you know just how popular this eatery is for tacos, bar food and drinks. Bar Taco is located in both Westport and West Hartford and it usually takes anywhere from 45 minutes to 2 hours to get into this restaurant for dinner. Surprisingly, my family was lucky enough to get a table in only 15-20 minutes!

The Westport restaurant is located right near the water and a variety of cute shops. It's a brick building and the interior is decorated with a nautical theme. The lights are actually made out of baskets, which I thought was really unique! The waiters and waitresses all wore gingham oxfords and white pants (aka the cutest uniform ever). Needless to say, I was impressed from the beginning just by the atmosphere. It's a casual, chill restaurant and people wore anything from shorts to dresses and heels while visiting.

The menu is comprised of trendy Mexican food. You can order anything from traditional chips and guac to tuna poke bowls. My family actually did order the chips and guac and loved it! This appetizer also came with two different types of spicy salsas.

For dinner, I ordered the cauliflower rice bowl. I absolutely loved it! It was a brown rice base with peppers, onions, cauliflower and a spicy red pepper spread. Going out to eat is something that usually gives me anxiety because I'm very health conscious and picky, but I was pleasantly surprised with the menu and the dish I ordered. Bar Taco has a good selection of vegan and vegetarian options. They also cater to food allergies like lactose intolerance and celiac disease, so there's something for everyone to eat. My family got a variety of tacos and loved those as well.

Thanks so much for reading!
