Winter Essentials

Since we are currently experiencing a major snowstorm, I figured sharing my winter favorites on the blog would be appropriate today. If you are anything like me, then you are dying for summer to arrive already and for the windy, cold weather to cease. Despite the cold weather, however, it is possible to dress stylish during the winter! Down below, I am rounding up some of my favorite items that I have either already purchased or have my eye on for the future to survive the winter elements.

These boots are a major lifesaver. Prior to starting college, I did not think rain boots were that necessary. After experiencing my first rainstorm on campus, however, I quickly changed my mind. Now that it is winter, I use my Hunter Boots as snow boots. Since the boots come up to my knee because I am short, no rain or snow are able to get on my feet! There are also special boot covers you can purchase specifically for Hunter Boots for added comfort and warmth.

Purchasing some form of a winter coat or parka is definitely in your best interest. Similar to my lack of enthusiasm for rain boots, I also did not want a heavy coat before starting college. After experiencing a month or two in the cold, I changed my mind about this item too. Personally, I love Patagonia's coats and pullovers. I own a Patagonia winter coat and it is incredible quality and very warm.

3. Hats
Hats are also a must! This year, I have been really into pom-pom hats. The little pom-pom adds a cute detail to a regular winter hat. They are available just about anywhere these days such as Target, J.Crew, Abercrombie, Forever 21 etc.

I love blanket scarves! I'm pretty sure I've mentioned this fact in just about all of my blog posts recently, but they really are the best scarves. My absolute favorite scarf is from Dress and Charm. I have several photos in it on my Instagram @thepinkprep !! You can always purchase these from J.Crew, Forever 21, Marshall's, Charlotte Russe, Nordstrom etc.

I live for cozy socks during the winter. Not only do they add a cute flair to boots, but they are ideal in keeping your feet warm. The J.Crew Camp Socks are my personal favorite!

During the winter, I basically live in pullovers. They are both cute and comfortable for the cold weather we are experiencing this January! My favorites are the Lilly Pulitzer popovers and the sherpa pullovers.

By this point, I have so many vests I can barely keep count of them. J.Crew vests are my personal favorite because they hold up really well and can be layered with other clothing pieces.

Cozy t-shirts make even the coldest days just a little bit better! Some of my favorites are from Jadelynn Brooke and Southern Girl Prep. You can use my code thepinkprep15off for 15% off from Southern Girl Prep!!

I love a good sweater during the winter. Lately, I have been obsessed with all of the Kiel James Patrick sweaters, especially this anchor one!

Leggings are most definitely pants. I like jeans and all, but I survive on my leggings during the cold months! Thankfully, plenty of brands offer cute leggings to keep my winter wardrobe stylish. Shein offers a variety of trendy styles, Jadelynn Brooke has the cutest bow leggings, and Lilly Pulitzer makes every day bright with their variety of patterned leggings.

Thank you for reading, and stay warm!
