2017 Favorites

Since today is the last day of 2017, I am reflecting on my favorite outfits and accessories from the course of the year. This year, I was introduced to a variety of new brands such as Lisi Lerch, Romwe, The Pinkish Flamingo, and many more. Besides for discovering new brands, I discovered new ways to style myself as well. Traditionally preppy, I typically purchased clothing from preppy brands that we all know and love such as Vineyard Vines and J.Crew.

While my fashion allegiance remains to the preppy look and preppy outfitters, I surprised myself by stepping outside of my comfort zone and purchasing new accessories such as over-the-knee boots that I wouldn't have originally attributed to my personal style. 2017 was also the year for oversized earrings. I am currently obsessed with all of Kendra Scott's Elle earrings and I also love Bauble Bar's tassel earrings and Peachy Pendants' anchor earrings.  I am also relishing the revival of classic prep. Although I enjoy experimenting with trendy pieces from time to time, classic prep remains my true identity. The revival of layering Ralph Lauren cableknit sweaters with oxford tops, or J.Crew patterned vests with turtleneck sweaters and a sidewalk skirt are making a comeback, and I am loving it. Overall, 2017 was a great year for fashion, and I cannot wait to see what 2018 has in store for all of the fashionistas out there!

2017 Favorites
1. Lakeshore Lover Dress
When I came across this dress over the summer, I knew I had to have it. This dress reminds me of spring and summer because of the fun colors and striped pattern! The choker cutout is very trendy right now, and it is a nice bonus detail. I recently purchased this dress during the Jadelynn Brooke Black Friday Sale, and it is sold out now, but hopefully they bring it back for the upcoming summer! I plan on styling it with my Kendra Scott Elle earrings and a pair of white Jack Rogers.
I purchased these earrings over the summer as an addition to my wardrobe, and I abolutely love styling them. All of Kendra Scott's jewelry is amazing quality and I was not disappointed!
I definitely bought many blanket scarves this year! They were the perfect addition to my fall and winter wardrobes, and I styled them with basically anything. From dresses to sweatshirts, blanket scarves completed all of my looks in 2017!
Recently, I became a rep for Peachy Pendants, and I am loving all of the preppy jewelry they sell. These anchor earrings are a favorite of mine since I love navy and can style them with all of my vests and sweaters! Use my code nicolette25off for 25% off of your purchases!
I received this tee in my fall rep box from Southern Girl Prep and I wore it nonstop! I love pairing this tee with a vest from J.Crew and a blanket scarf for a layered look, which you can view on my Instagram account. Use my code thepinkprep15off for 15% off of your purchases!
I enjoyed styling these boots this year. They looked stylish with anything from plaid skirts to a pair of jeans! They are also perfect for colder weather since they come up to the knee.
7. Quilted Puffer Vest
J.Crew vests were easily one of my favorite accessories this year. By now, it is safe to say I own just about every color they offer! Their vests pair perfectly with sweaters, oxfords, dresses etc!
I received this KJP bracelet as a Christmas present this year, and I can honestly say it is one of my favorite accessories. The open cuff look is very popular right now, and I have been styling this bracelet with a variety of different pieces.
9. Plaid
Plaid has always been one of my favorite patterns, especially for vests. This past Christmas season, I purchased several plaid items ranging from pants to skirts. These pants from Talbots were definitely a favorite of mine and I can't wait to style them again next Christmas season!
This purse matches literally everything I own. I love the brown leather shade and it matches my Tory Burch boots perfectly! I can't wait to style this purse all year during the different seasons.
